Lights in Motion is a Squidsoup project, stepping into physically animating sculpture.
At Squidsoup we have been developing an in-house motion system for creating moving sculptures. The system is wirelessly connected and controlled using imagery and unique coded behaviours. This first small display for the system was used to develop the core understanding, functionality and mechanics behind digital winch control.
As an idea, we constantly discuss the movement of light through pattern and flow within all aspects of the works. automation and/or physical movement has been the pathway yet unexplored within our work. This first reassured our belief that the combination of light, sound and motions in harmony can create a unique and transcending experience.
We are working, following this on an updated version which will be released shortly in a new work...
